Shalini Maniam began her journey as a self-taught abstract artist. Her interest in painting started at the age of 12. The interest was cultivated during teenage years and further developed through professional career.
Starting of as an amateur with profound love towards art, she has now grown into a significant contributor in the Malaysian art industry. Till date, she has exhibited multiple large scale abstract expressions via contemporary painting and in gallery. Shalini Maniam’s work has been exhibited in various galleries (KualaLumpur). Her paintings have been sold locally (Malaysia) and internationally.

What/Who inspire your pieces?
Nature, Universe, Galaxy, Forest, Ocean an Earth.
How do you mix your own version of paint colour?
I mix various colours to make my own shades. For example, I mix blue, black and purple to make Ultramarine Blue.
What emotional need do you fulfill in your work?
Expressing my mind and what the heart feels.
What do you hope the viewer feels when they see your art?
I hope the viewer feels peaceful and renewed each time they sees my art.
